It is estimated that around 25% of breast cancers are missed on mammography in women with heterogeneously dense breasts, and about 40% are missed in women with extremely dense breasts (1).
Yet, 86% of women in the UK do not know their breast density (Micrima x Opinium).
These figures matter, but they represent real experiences, and every voice makes a difference.

Due to her breast density, Siobhán’s cancer was undetected for 6-8 years, resulting in a mastectomy.
